BITES AT BISTRO C

Some of the biggest, most fond memories from my childhood are holidays and weekends spent running a muck in Noosa, on the Sunshine Coast. Mum and Papa B have always spoilt us by having property there, which luckily meant Noosa would become our go to getaway spot. Everything about it rings nostalgia for me.

This weekend we drove the 2 hours to Noosa, accompanied by Joe Rogan and Tom Segura via podcast. Two great passengers for an extended drive. The occasion; celebrate my man's Dad's birthday. Celebrate we did; with delicious food and drink and great company. We arrived in Tewantin after a good drive, and waited for our lift Bistro C.

Bistro C is pretty much an institution in Noosa. Located on the bustling Hasting's Street, Bistro C's beachfront location and infamous happy hour makes it a local favourite. They open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; each menu as fresh and flavoursome as the last. The restaurant has a semi open plan which allows the breeze to lift from the ocean and flow through the venue. The decor is bright, beachy and fresh. I highly recommend a visit here, walk in off the beach or glam up for a cocktail while you look out onto the sand and ocean.

The food was delicious, I ordered the Moreton Bay bug, crab and prawn spaghettini while the other half settled on a pulled pork sandwich on a brioche bun. Without tooting my own horn too much, I definitely picked a winner. The pasta was pure perfection, light with a little bit of chilli kick and a rose to finish. The pulled pork was a smokey saucey sandwich balanced with a sweet apple slaw. A bit heavy for lunch for me personally, but absolutely out of this world delicious.

Given the special occasion, cocktails were ordered. Another fun fact about me, I love sour cherry, maraschino cherry, cherry nectar - all of it. I ordered an Aperol and Maraschino Sour, it was like an Amaretto Sour except a bit more bitter. Really delicious. Bistro C has an Espresso Martini cocktail menu, it's just a list of different flavoured espresso cocktails. Everything from jaffa, to chai latte. I can't stress this enough, again - get here for happy hour.
